A topic when “how was your day?” is not enough

People look up deep questions when a conversation stays on the surface. A dinner goes quiet. A language exchange dies after “how was your weekend?” English practice turns into the same chat about your day. A better question gives you something real to explain.

FluencyPal calls this Random deep talking. It lives on the Speaking with AI card, next to ordinary Just Talk.

How Random deep talking works

  1. Open Speaking with AI on your practice dashboard.
  2. Choose Random deep talking. Questions rotate on the screen for a few seconds.
  3. One question stays, in large type.
  4. Start opens a call with the AI on that question. Rotate spins again if you want a different one.

Casual conversation is still there. It starts the usual chat, with the same prompts as before. Use it when you want to talk about your day. Use Random deep talking when you want a question worth answering.

The AI asks the question in the language you are practicing and stays with it. If you get stuck, it makes the same question smaller instead of changing the subject.

Where a deep question is useful

These are the moments people actually search for a list of questions:

  • A walk or a meal with someone you trust, after the easy topics are finished.
  • A date or a new friendship that is still stuck on jobs and weekends.
  • A speaking club or language exchange that needs more than small talk.
  • Time alone, when you want to speak English and do not have a topic.
  • Practice before a conversation that may turn personal, including an interview that asks what you care about.

You can read a list of questions in Deep questions to ask. In FluencyPal you do not have to choose from a page. You spin, then you answer out loud.

How to answer so you keep speaking

A useful answer is often three parts: what you think, why you think it, and one example from your life. A short answer is fine. The practice is saying it, not performing it.

What should I talk about when I practice English alone?

Pick a question you could also ask a person, then answer it aloud. Random deep talking gives you that question and a partner who will wait for the answer.

How is this different from the daily question?

The daily speaking question is one shared prompt, and you can see how other learners answered. Random deep talking is private. You spin a personal question and practice it in a call with the AI.

Open Random deep talking the next time you want a real topic.
